Celebrating Languages: A Night of Fun and Culture

On the 24th of September, our Modern Foreign Languages Department hosted a lively House Cultural Language Quiz Evening in celebration of European Day of Languages, which is officially marked on the 26th of September.

The event brought together nearly a hundred enthusiastic students from almost all school houses, who competed in teams for the ultimate title of Winning House. The quiz was filled with fascinating facts, challenging questions, and clever clue-solving activities — all designed to test and celebrate our students’ knowledge of European languages and cultures.

Laughter, teamwork, and a touch of friendly rivalry filled the air as participants raced to decipher phrases, identify landmarks, and uncover linguistic secrets. The atmosphere was electric, and the evening was made even sweeter with prizes and treats for all involved.

After an exciting contest, Wills East proudly claimed the top spot as this year’s winners, followed by Wills West and Evans.

The event was not only a wonderful opportunity to showcase our students’ language skills but also a fantastic reminder of the joy and importance of learning about different cultures. A huge thank you to the MFL Department for organising such a memorable evening — we can’t wait to do it again next year!
