On Tuesday 3rd October, the Chapel Choir, solo singers and instrumentalists from Taunton School visited St. George’s Catholic Church for a charity recital.

Performers Maddie H, Freya S, Issy S, Ethan L and Anthony K all gave highly polished performances of a variety of solo pieces, ranging from elegant Bach and Telemann violin movements to expressive Rossini on the clarinet. Thanks must go to Ms Stretton who accompanied many of the performances expertly at the keyboard.

The choir performed a set of unaccompanied pieces and enjoyed the church’s generous acoustic. It was impressive work for all the performers to prepare the programme within the first month of the school term.

The cakes baked by the church’s congregation were highly appreciated by all involved at the end of the recital, and the event raised over £500 for the Catholic international development charity CAFOD.
