Students Help Raise Money in Music Recital at St George’s Church
The Chapel Choir gave a charity recital at St George’s Church, Billet Street on 1st October, raising £480 for the Catholic Agency for Overseas Development.
The choir performed a set of unaccompanied pieces in the generous acoustic of the church, enjoyed by an appreciative audience.
A number of members of the choir also delighted the audience with instrumental and vocal solos. Thomasin MF, Emily V, Elsenne O, Freya S, Eliza H, Matilda W and Oscar B gave impressive renditions of a range of music, accompanied by Head of Keyboard Ms Stretton. Music included the famous Love Theme from Cinema Paradiso, as well as performances of songs by Mozart and English composer Ivor Gurney, and part of Bach’s Partita no. 2 in D minor for violin.
The Chapel Choir will be busy in the second half of term, singing for Remembrance, the Autumn Concert, the Advent Carol Service and of course the Christmas services.
