Woodyer Girls Complete Charity Runathon
Our Woodyer students successfully completed their 2025 Runathon in aid of the Monkey Tree Charity on Sunday 4th May. The Taunton School community came out in force and a wonderful day was had by all, collectively running almost 600km throughout the day. Thank you so much to all those who joined us. We reached our fundraising goal of £1,000 and are now at £1,500 – but we would still love to raise more! Here is the link for our charity – thank you so much for those who sponsored us and there is still time, if you haven’t – https://gofund.me/6cecc8a0
Winners of the fancy dress awards to go Masha (WD) and Diatigui (WE). The fastest lap was completed by James (ML) in 1 minute 56. Adam (WW) ran a half marathon, Sam (WW) ran 15km and Verity (WR) put in a huge distance for our Woodyer girls!
Wills East and Wills West battled it out for an amazing number of laps (per house) and at 7.30pm they were tied at 138 laps each! With time running out, the boys came out to run/walk again and it was a huge finish with a Wills East win 168 -154.
Other special mentions go to Mr Turner, who ran with Charlie in his push chair; Mrs White, who ran with Noodle; Miss Lewis for her new 5km PB; Mrs Quirk, who couldn’t stop running; Miss Darke for running a half marathon; and Miss Taylor, Miss Manley and Miss Bransfield for bringing their children and running/walking around.
Final shout outs go to Saba, for an easy-to-use spreadsheet and for walking, on and off, throughout the day. Last, but not least, to Miss Harris and Izzy (WR) for all of their hard work to make this such a fantastic event!
