Senior student Nathan competed in the University of Cambridge’s PiWars event at the end of April, finishing second overall!

Nathan and his team, PiDrogen, were tasked with designing an autonomous robot to compete in the Advanced level of the competition. The team’s robot was named Fusion and was based on Firefly, designed by Brains in the original Thunderbirds).

Fusion had to complete a series of seven games and challenges, with five of these being autonomous and two being remote-controlled and was placed second overall, winning the artistic category based on Nathan’s design and the obstacle course category in which Fusion was controlled by Nathan.

Well done Nathan and team PiDrogen!
