Students at TSI study their GCSEs in just one very intensive year of study and so it is perhaps inevitable that anxiety levels rise at this time of year. Exams are stressful at the best of times, but perhaps especially so when completing them in such a short space of time and in another language.

A proactive approach to stress management and wellbeing is taken to help students cope with the challenges of the summer exam period, with student Wellbeing Ambassadors putting together exam stress survival kits to give their fellow students a boost, whilst in tutorials students have been able to benefit from guided meditation and progressive muscle relaxation sessions.

Sarah Varley, the School’s Mental Health Practitioner also delivered a useful session which offered students practical solutions for dealing with all aspects of exam stress, including what to do when faced with unfamiliar questions, and how to support friends who might be struggling.
