Congratulations to Year 12 Jack who has joined the Somerset County Cricket Club Academy!

Jack has been passionate about cricket since the age of five, starting out at Taunton Deane Cricket Club before joining Taunton Prep School in Year 5, where he began training with our dedicated cricket coaches.

Jack shared his excitement: “Joining the Somerset Academy feels like the start of everything for me. It’s been my goal for a long time, and now that I’m here, I’m determined to push even harder. It’s amazing to work with so many talented coaches and players including Lewis Gregory, Craig Overton and Josh Davey. My dream is to earn a Somerset contract when I graduate from Taunton School.”

Mr Sanderson, Director of Cricket at Taunton School, added: “We are so pleased for Jack. His hard work in the Somerset programme, supported by the extra 1:1 coaching he’s taken on at School, has truly paid off. Jack has been a standout player since joining us in Year 5, making his 1st XI debut and earning his cap last year as a Year 11 pupil. As a School, we could not be prouder.”
