On Friday 6th March, in anticipation of International Women’s Day, Foxcombe West enjoyed a themed Mocktail Party. The menu featured drinks named in honour of influential women from history, including Pankhurst, Brontë, Lovelace, and Seacole. The evening was accompanied by a curated playlist celebrating female artists and the spirit of empowerment.

On International Women’s Day itself, students from both Foxcombe West and Foxcombe East attended a screening of Barbie (2024), a film chosen for its uplifting and thought‑provoking message for young people.

To further mark the occasion, students from Foxcombe West delivered an engaging and informative assembly. They shared how International Women’s Day is celebrated in their home countries and highlighted significant inventions and discoveries made by women throughout history. The assembly concluded with an interactive game of Headbands, during which staff wore headbands featuring notable women, and students worked together to help them identify their assigned figure
