On 11th February, the Futures Department held an Apprenticeship Day in the Old Library hosting Taunton School, Wellington School, Millfield School and Blundell’s School Year 12 and 13 students. The day began with a series of engaging talks from industry professionals and current apprentices, who shared their personal career journeys and offered practical advice on how students can begin preparing for competitive apprenticeship opportunities. Speakers from Ward Willams, Savills, Croft Surveyors and the University of Northumbria highlighted the growing range of high‑level programmes, emphasising the value of hands‑on learning alongside academic study.

A networking lunch followed, giving students the chance to speak directly with employers in a relaxed setting before taking part in a series of interview preparation workshops. They practised essential skills such as answering competency‑based questions, presenting themselves professionally and reflecting on their strengths. The day concluded with multiple rounds of mock interviews, providing structured, personalised feedback to help each student refine their approach.

It was a hugely successful event, leaving students inspired, informed and better equipped for their next steps.
