U18 Boys Hockey Qualify for England Hockey National Tier 1 Finals
The U18 Boys Hockey have had a fantastic season and qualified for the England Hockey National Tier 1 Finals at Lee Valley Hockey and Tennis Centre. This was in addition to attending the U18 Indoor Hockey National Finals.
As part of the Tier 1 U18 competition, the team played fixtures before Christmas against Cranleigh, Peter Symonds and Warwick, with the league continuing this term against Dean Close, Millfield, KES Southampton and Sir Will Borlase.
Through the games our U18 team have achieved a great deal of success: they won the Regional League and qualified for the National Quarter Final against Solihull, a game won convincingly which enabled them to qualify for the National Finals.
Our captain, Will, has led the team well, being an exceptional role model both on and off the pitch. Joining Will as a high performance player we have many students that have either previously been part of the National set up, or have attended England Assessments. These include Jack, Oscar, Ben and Hartley with Theo being a current England U16 player. In addition, we have players in this squad, that have been part of the England Hockey Talent Academies including Nic, Olly and Oli.
We have some fantastic hockey players within this squad yet it is also brilliant to see the range and diversity of other sports that the majority of these students play, for example cricket, rugby, tennis, squash and athletics.
Well done boys!
