We’re delighted to have had so many students from Years 9, 10 and 11 receive bronze, silver and gold certificates following the recent Intermediate Maths Challenge!

🥉 56 students received bronze certificates
🥈 34 students received silver certificates
🥇 16 students received gold certificates

A further shout out to Year 9 Lucie and Year 10 Thomas for their Gold Best in Year certificates, and a huge well done to Year 11 Robbie who was awarded Gold Best in School!

On Thursday 20th March ten of our top mathematicians from Years 9 to 11 took part in follow-on rounds. We had students taking part in 4 of the 5 different follow-on competitions, with Tom B in Year 10 and Robbie E in Year 11 both sitting the Olympiads for their respective year groups and giving a strong showing from Goodland. Thanks to Mr Flower, their housemaster, for his support with this.

We also had students from Years 10 and 11 taking the Pink Kangaroo and Year 9 Jenkin student Lucie P taking the Grey Kangaroo. Lucie is also involved with the Préparation Olympique Française de Mathématiques (French Mathematical Olympiad preparation competitions) and has two more tests coming up for those.

Students from all areas and many houses of Taunton School were represented with Sam B from Wills West, Abi B from Besley, Victor J from The Grange, alongside Evelyn L, Risa N and Alan X from Foxcombe, and current Fairwater and former Foxcombe student Tim F, making for a truly diverse range of students in this academic competition. This is the final round of this competition for this academic year and we eagerly await the results.
