A-Level Students Give Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) Presentations
The Extended Project Qualification is an A-Level that allows pupils to choose a topic of their choice that they research and produce either an essay or artefact on over a calendar year of developing their research skills, preparing them for university life and beyond.
The first week back after half term saw our Year 13 EPQ pupils carry out their presentations on their project journeys. The audiences heard talk ranging from the effect of high frequency trading on markets, to how to write a good murder mystery novel, to the extent of the validity of taxa under Choeradodis.
These Year 13s have spent a year learning research, organisational, and planning skills, that will support their studies and future endeavours. The presentations allow for a platform to both develop public speaking skills and reflect upon their learning journey, identifying the skills they have learnt and where they could have improved. Both staff and students were blown away by the expertise our EPQers showed and we are very proud of the developments they have made over the past year.
