Year 12 Unleash their Exceptional
As part of our Unleashing Your Exceptional week, Year 12 students embraced the opportunity to prepare for life beyond school through a series of engaging and thoughtfully designed skills development workshops.

Created and delivered by our dedicated teaching staff, the sessions covered a wide range of essential areas – from identifying personal strengths and developing creative thinking, to problem-solving under pressure and voice coaching for confident communication.

The week’s standout moment was undoubtedly the mock interview day, which gave students a realistic and invaluable insight into the job application process.

Each student completed a professional application and took part in a formal interview conducted by a fantastic group of parents, staff, governors, and representatives from leading organisations including EDF, Numatic, PwC, and Clarke Willmott.

Designed to replicate a real-world assessment centre, the day included formal interviews, written and practical tasks, presentations, and a networking lunch with the interviewers – offering students a chance to practice professional conversation in a relaxed and supportive setting.
Later in the week, students had the chance to put their newly honed communication and teamwork skills into action during an adventure day at Wimbleball Lake, organised by Exmoor Adventures. Activities such as kayaking, paddleboarding, archery, and orienteering provided the perfect mix of challenge and fun, while also helping to strengthen peer connections.

This immersive week not only sharpened students’ employability skills but also gave them a clearer understanding of the expectations and opportunities that lie ahead. We are incredibly proud of how our students rose to the challenge and deeply grateful to everyone who contributed their time and expertise to make the experience so impactful.
