It felt especially fitting on Wednesday 17th June, as our Bronze expedition groups set off on their expeditions, we celebrated the 100th Duke of Edinburgh’s Award completion of the year — the third consecutive year we have reached this milestone!

We’re thrilled that the Award continues to go from strength to strength, with an incredible 90% of Year 9 pupils signing up for the Bronze challenge this year. Numbers being so strong has enabled us to run two expeditions simultaneously this year; to the Quantocks and the Blackdowns.

Students have also been giving their time volunteering in the Prep School, supporting their communities through litter picking, helping neighbours, writing letters to those affected by cancer, and even contributing to scientific research by counting penguins.

In the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award’s 70th anniversary year, it is fantastic to see the programme thriving at Taunton School, playing such a key role in helping our pupils truly find their exceptional.
