Sean Dickson Joins Taunton School as Resident Sport Psychologist
We officially welcomed Sean Dickson into the school on Thursday 16th January to talk to parents about how to support their children in their sporting endeavours.
Sean is a 1st class cricketer and currently plays for Somerset, but is also a qualified sport psychologist and is now working with the coaches and students at Taunton Senior School.
Sean started work with our U14 and U16 netball teams and is also now working with some individual students and the U18 boys hockey team prior to their final league matches. Sean is also observing coaching sessions and educating our coaching staff on how we can aid the students’ experience, connection, preparation and adaptation to difficult sporting situations.
We are excited to welcome Sean on board. His experience as a professional sportsperson and the insight he can bring in terms of psychological preparation for competition, fear of failure, pressure, and expectation will be highly valuable to our students.
As part of our growing sport science family, Sean is joining Jane McClements who has become our consultant nutritionist. Jane currently leads the Brentford Football Club Academy nutrition programme as an expert in adolescence diet and nutrition and is looking forward to supporting our students in this area.
Whilst your children will have some access to this expertise in school, both of these sport science professionals are available for private sessions at the following email addresses.
