We’re proud to share that we have partnered with the University of Bath, to contribute to its BAWESS corpus project, and with the Language and Literacy Education Network (LLEN) to help bridge the gap between academic research and classroom learning.

The British Academic Written English Secondary School (BAWESS) corpus project has been designed to investigate the role of language in representing knowledge in different disciplines by collecting one million words written by students across IGCSE/GCSE, A-Level and International Baccalaureate qualifications.

The LLEN is an international network that brings together scholars from across the globe to apply a range of methodological approaches and perspectives to explore educational challenges. We are thrilled to be chairing the Europe and Middle East Secondary School working group.

Dr Graham Mallard, Deputy Head Academic at Taunton School, has said that “it is exciting to see Taunton School increasingly contributing to important educational research projects and leading the way in establishing and implementing best teaching practice, from which our students are already benefitting.”

In times in which levels of literacy are increasingly a concern, we are proud to be working towards improving the standard for students in the UK and worldwide.
