Ben & Tom Selected for England Hockey Teams and Students Selected for Academies
Congratulations to Year 13 Ben and Year 11 Tom who have been selected for England Hockey squads!
Ben, who has been selected for England’s U18 squad, is our current 1st team captain and recently led the team to victory at the West Regional Indoor Hockey Finals and is now training with the team for the National Finals on 4th December. Ben has made waves in teams outside of School too, being part of the Exeter University Talent Academy and Ashmoor Hockey Club.
Tom, who has joined the England U16 squad, captained our U16 hockey team which achieved second place at the West Regional Indoor Finals last week and has benefitted from training with the Exeter University Talent Academy and playing for Taunton Vale Hockey Club and Ashmoor Hockey Club. Tom has represented Taunton Vale at multiple National Finals, captaining one to 3rd place in just Year 9.
Laura Bennett, Director of Hockey, said: “Tom and Ben have not only worked exceptionally hard but consistently over the past few years with their hockey. They access all the additional support available within Taunton School including within our Scholars’ Programme. We are really proud of what both boys are achieving and we look forward to supporting them on their journey throughout the year and beyond.”
A huge well done Ben and Tom, you should be extremely proud of your achievements.

We are also delighted to share that a huge number of hockey students from Year 9 to 13 have been selected to join the Exeter Talent Academy and the Somerset Hockey squads!
This year, we have had 12 students join the Exeter Talent Academy and 22 students join Somerset squads.
A huge well done everyone!
