Show Jumping County Success
The Taunton School Equestrian Team competed at the county show-jumping competition held at KSEC. The classes had big entries and schools from across Somerset were very well represented.
There were four teams and four individual titles to be awarded with the finals to be held at Hickstead in May.
Taunton School picked up three of the team titles in the 70cm, 80cm and 100cm!
70 Team 1st – Izzy R (Year 7), Daisy T (Year 9), Fliss G (Year 13)
70 Individual 2nd – Daisy T
8th – Izzy R
80 Team 1st – Violet L (Year 6), Florence L (Year 9), Alice B (Year 10), Sophie D (Year 10)
80 Individual 4th – Violet L
10th – Daisy T
100 Team 1st – Florence L (Year 9), Zoe T (Year 10), Hetty H (Year 13)
100 Individual 3rd – Florence L
5th – Hetty H
10th – Zoe T
In the 80 team event there were 11 teams, (each team result is based on the best score/fastest time of the highest placed 3 team members). In this particular class our collective three times were 0.11 seconds quicker than 2nd place (Kings College). So very close!
Zoe T won the 1.10m pony class, the jumps were very high and Zoe and her little pony had a stunning clear round.
A special well done to our other riders who may not have had a top spot but tried very hard in their first classes of this standard.
