On Friday 10th November, a group of the school’s most accomplished performers gave a lunchtime recital to a large audience, as part of a series at St. John’s Church, Park Street. A packed church was treated to instrumental and vocal solos by musicians from Year 9 to Year 13, all accompanied expertly at the piano by Head of Keyboard, Ms Stretton. The programme featured compositions by Scarlatti, Beethoven, Strauss and Shostakovich, among others, and each performer brought the music to life with colourful characterisation and assured technique. The richly varied recital was appreciated by all in attendance, and TS musicians will certainly return to this lunchtime series again. A total of nearly £300 was raised at the event for local dementia care charity Reminiscence Learning. The generosity of our community, coupled with the incredible talent made the event so special.
