Cricket Academy Success
Taunton School are delighted that for the first time in their history three players have been selected to join the Somerset Academy Programme, alongside Alice R who has joined the Western Storm Academy.
Congratulations to Kian R, Oscar C and Ben C on this achievemennt. Kian, a year 12 pupil who came to Taunton School 6 years ago from Cornwall, has played for many Somerset County Cricket Club teams including fielding for the 1st XI and the 2nd team. Kian also played, a year young, in the Regional ECB Super 4s at the National Cricket Centre in Loughborough.
Oscar C and Ben C are both currently in year 11 and have both played for Somerset County teams including the 2nd XI. Ben joined the school in 2022 as a boarder, coming from Bath with the ambition to be a professional cricketer, joining the Somerset Academy Programme is a step towards that dream. Oscar C has been at Taunton School for many years, during his time at school he has developed his skills and has played key roles in the teams he has been involved with. Oscar also played in the Regional U15s Bunbury Cricket Festival.
Alice R, who joined the school as a boarder to complete her sixth form education, has joined the Western Storm Academy programme having played for her county, Wiltshire, previously.
Taunton School Cricket Coaches said, “we are delighted that these players have been selected for their respective academy programmes, the selections are very well deserved!”
These four players are part of 26 players at Taunton School who are in representative programmes across Somerset, Devon, Cornwall and Dubai.
