Taunton school welcomed Dr Guy Sutton to host ‘Brain Day’ for year 12 and 13 Pschology students. This day was an exciting opportunity for students to broaden their understanding of psychology and neuroscience and its important role in the world. Throughout the day, Dr Sutton held university-like lectures on interesting topics such as the future of brain technology, the brain’s role in birth defects, climate change and its affect on human behaviour, and the brain in relation to criminal behaviour, as well as other fascinating topics that the students engaged with.

In addition to lectures, a sheep brain was dissected in front of the students allowing them to see a real-life version of the structures which they’ve been studying. The day was enjoyable, informative, engaging, and a great introduction to what psychology may look like if studied at a higher level of education.
