IBDP Students Celebrate Core Success
On the evening of Friday 21st April, the Year 13 cohort, teachers, tutors and house staff joined together in the Old Library to celebrate a wide range of achievements prior to the start of their exam study leave.
Fizz, nibbles and pizza were provided whilst prizes were awarded.
The ‘core’ of the IB diploma programme consists of the Extended Essay (EE), Theory of Knowledge (TOK) and Creativity, Activity and Service (CAS).
Well done to the current group of IBDP students, and good luck in your final exams. Thank you also to all the staff who attended.
Prizes Winners:
Best overall extended essay (a 4000 word study on a subject of their choice) – Jasmin P (Philosophy) – ‘To what extent is Sortie correct in claiming that bad faith is the antithesis of living an authentic life?’
Best TOK exhibition – Lila O
Best TOK essay – Amélie R
Best range of CAS experiences – Kirra B and Christopher L (they tried a lot of different clubs and activities).
Best reflective writers – Lila O and Harry M
Most independent CAS project – Oscar S and Amélie R (a sponsored walk to the summit of Mount Snowdon).
Best promoter of Global Outlook – Tamara S (for her leadership of the Amnesty International group).
Best original idea for CAS – Theresa O (for starting and running a ballroom dancing club).
