Two siblings from the Prep School and Senior School, Lucie and George, travelled to Harrogate this month for the Japan Karate Shotokan England Squad Trials. George was selected last year and represented his country throughout the year coming 5th in the Commonwealth Championships and ending the year winning the JKS National Championships. Lucie won a bronze in her age category and was therefore invited to attend the England Trials in the new year after her impressive year at regional/club competitions winning a number of top medals over 2022.

Both siblings have achieved selection to the JKS England Kata Squad for 2023 and will take part in a number of competitions including the English Karate Championships, The Four Nations Championships, The Central Open Championships and the British Championships.

They both have a number of competitions lined up across the country this coming year which will give them exposure to be selected for the World Championship in Japan in 2024.
