Over 40 pupils from years 3 to 13 competed in the South West Regional Biathlon on Sunday 19th November. For many, this was their first experience of competing in this event and at this level. Students displayed fantastic teamwork with the older athletes supporting pupils from younger year groups – paying forward some of the inspirational support and advice they have received in the past.

The commitment, enthusiasm and sportsmanship shown by all our athletes was outstanding, especially given the difficult weather conditions. The desire to compete created notable successes for both teams and individuals, continuing Taunton School’s rich tradition in Pentathlon GB disciplines:

Year 5 girls – Team Silver

Year 6 boys – Team Gold

Year 7 boys – Team Gold

Year 8 girls – Team Silver

Year 10 girls – Team Gold

Cameron W (Year 6) – Individual Bronze

JJ W (Year 7) – Individual Silver

Many of our pupils have now qualified for the National Schools Biathlon Championships, to be held in March 2024 at the University of Bath. Well done everyone!
