Year 5 enjoyed a visit to Tyntesfield House, which is an old Victorian House in Wraxall. The children had a variety of workshops throughout the day and learnt about how the Gibbs family lived in the beautiful estate. They were also taught about the differences between rich and poor Victorians, got dressed up in their attire and explored a variety of artefacts – allowing us to understand the different roles within the house. Their favourite part of the day had to be exploring the house, but in the role of a servant! The children were able to explore different rooms, have a go at polishing the silver, and discover the nursery (which is not open to the public!), whilst having to remain in character at all times!
