It has been lovely to welcome all of our children back after half term and to see their enthusiasm for all aspects of school life.

Over the break, I reflected on what a wonderful community we are part of here at Taunton School. Seeing Reception settle so quickly into their first year of Pre-prep was a testament to the partnership we have with our families and the shared commitment to creating the very best learning environment.

I was blown away by the children’s learning in the first half of term. Reception have impressed me with their phonic skills and it has been wonderful hearing about their trips to Forest School.

Year One’s expedition to find a lost bear was also incredibly exciting and showcased their wonderful map drawing skills, as well as an unexpected enthusiasm for making porridge.

Year 2 are enjoying being top of the Pre-prep and proving to be excellent role models for their peers and the younger years. Their enthusiasm for learning about London has been wonderful and they have kept me well entertained with their amazing facts!

At the same time, our children in Nursery have been celebrating autumn – printing leaves, carving pumpkins, making glittery fireworks and autumnal crowns. There will be plenty of treasures coming home at the end of term! I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our pupils and their families for making me feel so welcome in my first few weeks. I have loved getting to know all of the children, their families and the staff. It is wonderful to see how everyone cares for each other and the pride and passion everyone has for being part of our Pre-prep family.
