This year we are so pleased to be bringing back what was a fabulous annual trip (almost a tradition) the TPS Choir Tour! Our last tour was to Malta in 2019. This year we stayed near Barcelona and had the most thrilling, amazing and enriching time. Going abroad as part of a school trip with friends is a treasured experience that offers so many opportunities for social and personal development, in terms of confidence and team building. Plus, it is just the most brilliant fun. Add to that the thrill of performing in exciting, weird and wonderful venues, and the experience is just so enhanced.

The choir rehearsed and prepared brilliantly under the leadership of Mrs Simmonds and we all really did ourselves proud. Our first performance was at a retirement home close to the hotel where we were staying. The next day, we travelled up to the top of a mountain to sing in the monastery at Monserat – an experience that the children will cherish forever, and which not many choirs get the opportunity to enjoy. We had almost a full day in the theme park Port Aventura and also performed on the stage in the entertainment complex of our hotel, making music and entertaining all the hotel guests (singing for our supper!). In between our scheduled performances, we had a boat trip, a visit to the Gaudi centre, and ate lots of ice cream and churros! Well done to all the children involved and a huge thank you to Mrs Simmonds for putting everything together and leading the trip magnificently, with huge help also from Mr Wells, Mrs Hall-Tomkin and Mr Baker.
