Versus King’s College Prep

It was a mild afternoon, and we were playing Kings College Prep. We were playing at home on the Durrant. This was a big match for us as we had drawn with them at the start of term, but this time we were at home, so we had to win.

The team started off well with a goal early on which really took some pressure off us. Everything in the first half went our way, scoring seven goals and not conceding any. This game we risked doing a new short corner routine and ended up scoring two goals in the first half from the short corner. In the second half we knew we had to hold this off because of the rivalry between the two schools. We started off a bit slower but finally got moving, putting three past the keeper. I have a lot of respect for the Kings College Prep team for not giving up and continuing to put us under pressure and after a lot of pressure they scored a nice goal in the bottom corner which made the match end Taunton Prep school 10-1 Kings College Prep.

Both teams played well in this match but for me there was a great performance from James S who for this game was playing on the right wing and had a massive impact on the match scoring two goals while he also dribbled with the ball very well and helped us get the win. Felix B also put on a great performance, helping in defense and not letting Kings get many shots away at goal but overall, everyone played well on the pitch that day.

I have high expectations for our team moving forward and hope that we can come away with good results for the rest of the season.
