On Wednesday, 9th October, Mrs. Adcock, a respected teacher and accomplished hockey player, will embark on a journey to South Africa to represent England in the Over-40s Hockey World Cup.

“It is an absolute honour and a privilege to represent my country, something that I do not take lightly,” Mrs. Adcock shared ahead of her departure. “When I was younger, I battled with self-confidence, especially when it came to sport. However, it feels fantastic to be achieving something I never thought possible.”

For Mrs. Adcock, this milestone is a symbol of personal growth and perseverance. Growing up, she struggled to find her footing in sports, doubting her abilities and often feeling overshadowed by more confident athletes. Yet, through dedication and passion, she has not only overcome those insecurities but has risen to the pinnacle of her sport — representing her country on the world stage.

The Over-40s Hockey World Cup is set to be an intense competition, drawing elite athletes from around the globe, each competing for their country with pride. Mrs. Adcock’s participation is not just a reflection of her sporting talent but a testament to her resilience and determination. It’s also an inspiration to the students she teaches — showing them the value of perseverance, hard work, and never giving up on your dreams.

As Mrs. Adcock prepares to take to the field, she carries with her the hopes and cheers of her community. “I’m incredibly grateful for this opportunity and proud to represent England, but also, I want to show others that it’s never too late to pursue your passion. You just have to be brave enough to go for it.”

Her colleagues, students, and family will be eagerly following her progress, cheering her on from afar as she competes in South Africa.
