Wells was the destination of choice for our final Thone family weekend before the half term break. Whilst the weather did its best to stop play, the sun made a very welcome appearance in the afternoon, allowing for lots of fun and sightseeing.

The Wells Recreation Ground was hugely popular with the children, as was the Bishop’s Palace and Moat. Watching the swans ring the Gatehouse bell for their lunch was a huge highlight for adults and children alike. Testing our long jump skills against Mary Rand’s world record from 1964 was also lots of fun. Needless to say we all need a bit more practice! The Flapjackery provided much needed sustenance for us all at the end of another hugely enjoyable day together.
