Year 7 and 8 pupils were joined earlier this term by Louis De‑Frescheville, Project Technical Lead at Hinkley Point C. Louis spoke to students about what civil engineering is and the wide range of projects engineers can work on.

Drawing on his own career, he shared experiences from major infrastructure projects including dams, bridges, and HS2, giving students an insight into how large‑scale engineering shapes the world around us. He also highlighted the importance of curiosity in engineering, encouraging students always to ask the question “how?”

The session was an inspiring introduction to engineering careers and helped students understand the creativity, problem‑solving, and teamwork involved in the profession.
