Earlier this month 14 students from TSIMS set off early on a 23km walk for their Duke of Edinburgh award. The walk on day one was to end at Kilve Cricket Ground where the team would set up camp for the night. The rest of the TSIMS students got to join in on the camping fun and set off on their own 15km and 10km walks to Kilve.

Once everyone arrived at camp, students working towards their Duke of Edinburgh award split off to set up their tents whilst the rest of the students started setting up their own camp site with some help from staff. It was then time to cook dinner over the camping stoves. Everyone loved cooking with each other and enjoyed their meals of chicken curry and chilli.

After dinner we played a big game of cricket, all students showing excellent skills on the Kilve pitch. To end the evening, everyone walked to the nearby beach to watch the sun set. Students looked around the rock pools and skimmed stones before heading back to camp to settle in for the night.

The Duke of Edinburgh team left early the next day to walk another 22km from Kilve to Minehead after packing away their kit whilst the rest of the TSIMS students packed their tents away and enjoyed a campsite breakfast. They then set off on their walk to reach Watchet.

Everyone arrived back safely and we are very proud of everyone for their energy and perseverance on the walks, especially the Duke of Edinburgh team that completed an amazing 45km walk over two days.
