Pupils Triumph at IAPS Triathlon Championships
On Sunday 18th May, our largest ever Triathlon team travelled to Monkton Prep School in Bath for the IAPS (Independent Association of Prep Schools) Triathlon Championships 2025. The sun shone, the sky was blue and there was very little wind, making the conditions perfect for fast racing.
Pupils from Year 5 to 8 entered the competition, and for some it was the first full triathlon they had ever completed. Every single TPS athlete gave their all, resulting in personal triumphs throughout the day. They all swam, biked and ran their hearts out, and were rewarded with finishers’ medals, goodie bags, lots of ice-cream and a massive sense of achievement.
The very best thing about the day was how much everybody enjoyed themselves and competed with huge smiles on their faces. There were a number of top 10 finishes and two TPS pupils made it onto the podium, to the sound of rapturous cheers and applause from their teammates.
Congratulations to Erin W (Year 6), who finished 3rd, and JJ W (Year 8), who won the competition and was crowned IAPS Triathlon Champion for the 4th year in a row!
A wonderful day of competition, following months of hard work at our weekly Triathlon Club. Well done to all involved!
The next Triathlon event is the IntoTri Taunton School Triathlon on Sunday 15th June 2025. Please find further detailsĀ here.
