A Message from Head of Prep, Ed Burnett
It feels impossible to summarise life at TPS in just three hundred words. Since I last wrote a Head’s piece for The Courier, the school has continued to offer a phenomenal number of opportunities for all the children which, given their excitement each morning on the gate, instils a love for each day at school. It won’t be long before we can focus on this during Parents’ Day on June 21st. Rather, this article gives me the opportunity to thank other parts of our ‘triangle’ – the teachers and parents – who together make the Prep School such a vibrant community for our pupils.
Time and again, our staff give up their time to put on events which are not only eye catching but also extol excellence and inclusion – the Summer Concert being an obvious example. To have nearly two hundred pupils perform is something I am very proud of and shows how the Performing Arts department continue to instil a love of performance in so many children. Teachers also find the energy and passion to give up their free time to ensure that all interests are catered for, the recent IAPS triathlon on Sunday 18th May being another such event.
Whilst our staff are fully committed, I know that without parental support, we would come up short: the time and energy you give to support us is vital to the success of the whole community. I hope this version of The Courier does justice to this because behind every picture lies the support and encouragement you give and without this, we would not be the school we are today.
