Successful Term for TPS Tennis Provision
The TPS tennis department has enjoyed a hugely successful term, with pupils demonstrating excellent commitment, progress, and achievement across all levels. We are especially proud that three of our players have been selected to represent Somerset at U9 level, earning places in the County Cup squad and attending regional training sessions – an outstanding accomplishment that reflects both their hard work and the strength of the programme.
Our High Performance Tennis Squad has also been in full swing. Bringing together eight of our county and regional players, the squad has benefited from regular indoor training sessions, ensuring consistent, high-quality practice. It was a pleasure to welcome the Headmaster to one of these sessions, where he saw first-hand the focus and standard of play.
After-school tennis clubs have been working hard, with pupils developing their technical skills and tactical understanding of both singles and doubles play and we have celebrated individual success, with Monty winning at Kings Club, Bristol, and Austin triumphing at Chew Valley at U9 level.
We now look forward to an exciting summer term, with a full fixture programme for Years 5–8, including the IAPS competition and local Somerset leagues.
