Years 3 & 4 Compete at Cross Country Larkman Cup
Twelve keen runners in Years 3 and 4 took part in the Larkman Cup at Blundells School on the 14th March. Being one of the highlights in the Cross Country calendar, it is always a really good event to take part in, especially for our younger runners to start to gain some racing experience.
The Year 3 and 4 girls started proceedings off with their race. As ever, pace started off strong and quick around what was a really course and introduction to cross country. Kemi lead the team out with a strong run finishing in 2nd place, very shortly behind was Zara in 5th and then Eden followed shortly in 9th. Great runs also from Ottilie and Millie. Megan also deserves a valued shout out due to her perseverance and resilience to finish the race. Alongside Kemi taking the silver medal, the team were able to take away the 1st place trophy. A real achievement!
The boys were up next after seeing the girls success, they were definitely more motivated! Rupert set off the pace for the race and lead this the entire way. Ben and Charlie both racing a year young ran superbly well finishing 4th and 8th respectively. Hedley, Bear and Guilhelm all managing to run very well and finish in the top half of the race. Rupert was able to bring home the individual gold medal and the team were able to finish 2nd place taking home the silver medal!
It was a really successful afternoon for the TPS runners and for some this being their first Cross Country experience. Well done everybody!
