Date: Friday 3rd May, 13:00 – Saturday 4th May, 13:00

The Taunton Preparatory School (TPS) community is gearing up for an exhilarating challenge – the Mighty Marathon! Taking place over a 24-hour period during the May exeat, this event will see staff, pupils, and parents alike pushing their limits by running on treadmills for an hour at a time, paired with a cycle ride to Wiveliscombe pool where staff and pupils are participating in an overnight pool based replication of an English Channel 21 mile relay swim. All distances covered will be meticulously recorded, contributing to this mighty feat of endurance!

Organised by Mrs. Adcock, Mrs. Tucker, and Mrs. Sheasby, alongside her son James, a Year 7 pupil in the Prep School, the Mighty Marathon aims to raise funds for three worthy causes: The Barney Webber Foundation, The Brain Tumour Charity, and Alzheimer’s Research UK.

These charities hold special significance to the TPS community, and all proceeds will be evenly distributed among them.

One of our OTs, Emily Yap, who inspired our pupils with her Ultra Marathon endeavour, which takes place in July, will be also be supporting the event. The generosity of many families following her inspiring Courier article has been deeply appreciated. We invite everyone to contribute to this noble cause by donating via our dedicated fundraising page. Your support will make a meaningful difference to those supported by these charities and in memory of others.

Let’s lace up our shoes, hop on those treadmills, and pedal with purpose as we run, ride, and rally for these causes close to our hearts.

Thank you for your support!
