Year 8 pupils, Helena Goudswaard and Emma Mason, have emerged victorious in a recent national competition hosted by the Korean Spirit and Culture Promotion Project. As part of our school’s academic scholarship program, TPS pupils immersed themselves in traditional Korean texts, focusing on the leadership of King Sejong. Pupils essays reflected upon his visionary leadership and its relevance to their own lives. The competition provided a unique opportunity for our scholars to engage with Korean culture, broadening their perspectives and fostering cross-cultural dialogue.

Helena and Emma’s achievements highlight the value of initiatives promoting cultural exchange among young people. In a globalised society, understanding and appreciating diverse cultures are essential skills. Through their dedication and success, they exemplify the spirit of curiosity and respect necessary for navigating an interconnected world. Year 7 pupils also garnered recognition in the prestigious national cultural competition. James Freeman, Quinn Stott, and Lewis Walters received honorary mentions, further solidifying our school’s success in this National event whilst highlighting the exceptional talents and dedication of our pupils.

Congratulations to all those who entered.
