Academic Scholars Meet Ghanaian Teachers
On Tuesday 27th February TPS Academic Scholars met two Ghanaian teachers who kindly visited to give a presentation on their cultural customs and the school they taught at.
Ghana has a population of around 31 million as is incredibly ethnically diverse with over 80 languages. Known as the gateway of Africa, the people of Ghana are renowned for their hospitality and openness.
TPS students also learnt about the school the teachers taught at Ghana which they found out has teams in multiple sports such as football, volleyball and swimming. However, what students believed most interesting was all the different tribes and customs for the different territories around them. Every year on the 6th of March they celebrate Ghanaian Independence Day by practicing customary cultural dances and displaying commonly worn robes by the different regions and tribes. The academic scholars were so fortunate to learn about such an incredible country and we would love to see them return.
Thank you Abenna and Felix!
