Year 8 Enjoys Outdoor Adventure Week
From the 16th of June, Year 8 were on a week of adventure!
We started with a carousel of activities covering First Aid, coding and an art workshop and a trip to Torbay. In Devon, we explored the unique geology of the UNESCO Global Geopark from the water exploring sea caves and isolated coves. We then delved into the hidden secrets inside Kents Caverns where we had the opportunity to learn about the ancient history of human occupation in the area.

The week culminated in a 15km hike along the Quantocks and then an overnight camp walking back to school on Friday morning. We had gorgeous weather although the heat was an extra challenge for some of us. It gave a great excuse for a water fight at the campsite before the Year 8 Talent Show where each tutor group put on a pre-planned act. Congratulations to 8B for their excellent choreographed dance routine!

Year 8 were a credit to the school with their resilience, teamwork and a great sense of fun. The skills learned across the week feed directly into the Duke of Edinburgh Award which many will start in Year 9.
