As the summer term draws to a close, it’s time to reflect on what has been a largely a successful cricket season across both the Prep and Senior Schools at Taunton.

Across the board, our teams have shown tremendous skill, spirit, and sportsmanship, with all teams winning and competing strongly in their fixtures. While there were moments of frustration – particularly with many teams narrowly missing out on regional and county finals, often by the slimmest of margins (a single run or the final over!) – these experiences are part of the game and will only strengthen our resolve for next season.

1st XI Milestones

A special congratulations goes to the eight boys and three girls in the Senior School who were awarded their 1st XI caps this year. This is a significant achievement and a testament to their hard work and dedication.

Pathway Player Progress

We are proud to report that 50 pupils across the school are already involved in county cricket pathways, representing Somerset and other counties this summer. We wish them continued success and development as they take their cricket to the next level.

Team Highlights

With nearly 50 teams across both schools, it’s impossible to single out every squad, but one standout moment was the Under-15 victory over King’s College, a thrilling match that will live long in the memory and perfectly encapsulated the spirit of Taunton School cricket.

A Word of Thanks

Our Director of Cricket, Mr. Sanderson, extends his heartfelt thanks to everyone involved in making this season such a success:

  • Coaching staff for their tireless dedication
  • Ground staff for preparing top-class pitches
  • Catering and transport teams for their behind-the-scenes support

Your efforts ensure that cricket at Taunton School continues to thrive and inspire.

Well Done to All

To every player, coach, and supporter, thank you for being part of this incredible season. We look forward to building on this momentum and returning even stronger next year.
