Cricket Visit June 2025.jpeg

Taunton School was delighted to welcome Niamh Holland and Jess Hazell, two rising stars of Somerset Women’s cricket, for a special visit aimed at inspiring the next generation of female cricketers!

As part of their visit, Niamh and Jess supported both softball and hardball middle practice matches, offering hands-on coaching, tactical insights, and encouragement to the girls participating. Their presence brought a professional edge to the sessions, and their guidance proved invaluable in helping players develop their skills and confidence.

The visit was not only about performance on the field. Pupils had the opportunity to engage in a Q&A session, where they asked thoughtful questions about the journey to becoming a professional cricketer. Niamh and Jess shared honest and inspiring insights into the dedication, training, and mindset required to succeed at the highest level of the women’s game.

Both players with their involvement in this session are already making a positive impact. Their visit highlighted the growing strength and visibility of women’s cricket in the region and left a lasting impression on all who took part.

A huge thank you to Jess and Niamh for their time, energy, and inspiration. We wish them the very best for the rest of the summer season and look forward to welcoming them back to Taunton School soon!
