A Golden Week for JJ at the European Championships in Madeira
Immediately after the end of term, Year 7 pupil JJ Wells headed to the Portuguese island of Madeira to compete for Great Britain in the Biathle, Triathle & Laser Run European Championships. Approximately 700 competitors took part in the event, across the age groups and three disciplines.
JJ focused on the Biathle (run-swim-run) and Triathle (shoot-swim-run) events and was delighted to win all six gold medals on offer in the u13 classification!
Biathle – Individual (Open), Team and Mixed Relay Champion
Triathle – Individual (Open), Team and Mixed Relay Champion
This is the fourth international competition where JJ has represented Great Britain and he has enjoyed every second of each trip. He first discovered his love of the Pentathlon disciplines, especially Biathle, when competing for Taunton Prep School in the National Schools Biathle at Leweston in Year 2! He encourages everyone at TPS to give it a go and is already looking forward to supporting younger pupils, whilst also competing, at various events next season.
Well done JJ!
