We are thrilled to announce that Gina Legg has been appointed as our new Head of Equestrianism.

This is an exciting new development and demonstrates Taunton School’s commitment to riding. We are keen to support our riders and their families by providing lots of opportunities, both ridden and non-ridden, facilitating the highest levels of equestrian development as part of a holistic programme that also supports their physical and mental growth. Gina has many amazing ideas and over the coming months you can expect to hear more about all of the following:

• Even more training opportunities with a range of coaches at a range of venues, focusing on specific disciplines and open to all age groups.
• Continued opportunities for competition with a specific focus on qualifying for Championships
• Non-ridden strength and conditioning sessions
• Equestrian-specific sports psychology sessions
• Improved marketing for equestrianism, including social media and advertising at competition venues

Equestrianism is a growing sport in schools, with competitions available across the UK in a range of disciplines from dressage to eventing. The National School’s Equestrian Association promotes excellence in riding from young grassroots riders through to national champions and GB riders and we work closely with them to uphold their values.

We wish Gina all the best with her new role and welcome all riders across the school to contact her if they would like to be involved in training or competing – please email gina.legg@tauntonschool.co.uk
