Year 5 Brings the Classroom to Life with ‘Africa Alive’
A vibrant African morning brought the Year 5 classrooms to life with colour, rhythm and creativity in January with Africa Alive!
Pupils began by learning traditional African dance steps, moving together to energetic drum beats that filled the room with excitement.
The celebration continued with friendly games of Mancala, where children practised strategy, patience and quick thinking while discovering one of Africa’s oldest board games.
To finish, everyone designed their own African collar necklaces, using bold patterns and vibrant colours inspired by traditional jewellery.
The morning offered a joyful blend of culture, teamwork and hands‑on learning, leaving Year 5 inspired and eager to explore more.
