TPS Enjoys Netball Fun Day
The TPS Netball Fun Day was a huge success, bringing sunshine, smiles and plenty of competitive spirit to the playground! Throughout breaktime, pupils threw themselves into a range of fun netball challenges, all designed to test speed, skill and teamwork.
The competition was fierce as children attempted to break school records, including most shots scored in 30 seconds and most passes completed in 30 seconds. The playground buzzed with encouragement as teammates cheered each other on, willing every pass and shot to count. Alongside the record-breaking attempts, pupils worked hard on their agility and balance in footwork relays, before bravely taking on the challenge of trying to beat the 1st team in a series of fast-paced dodging games. Effort levels were outstanding, with determination on display from start to finish.
The excitement reached its peak with the long-awaited staff match. The build-up had been intense, with staff training for weeks in preparation. Rumour has it that Mr Sewell even created one of his famous PowerPoint presentations to remind the team of their all-important set plays – true dedication!
The match itself did not disappoint. It was a tough, physical contest, with the boys striking first thanks to a confident opening goal from Mr Winsor. This put pressure on the girls early, with Miss Beck and Miss Stevens working tirelessly in defence to keep the scoreline under control. Despite the challenge, the girls showed great resilience and teamwork, gradually finding their rhythm.
With Miss Larkman on unstoppable form in the shooting circle, the girls began to pull away, much to the delight of the crowd. Her accuracy and composure proved decisive, and after an entertaining and hard-fought match, the girls claimed a well-deserved 15–5 victory.
A huge well done to everyone who took part and helped make the day such a memorable celebration of netball. From record-breaking efforts to staff rivalry, it was a fun-filled event that showcased teamwork, sportsmanship and school spirit at its very best!
