TPS Performing Arts Department Celebrates Exceptional Autumn Term
The Performing Arts department ends this term on a very high note in many aspects. We have enjoyed the brilliant success of the Year 6 production of Twelfth Night… with a twist! This was followed by some outstanding results at the regional Drama Festival – see results below this article.
Not long after this, more than half the total number of children in the whole of TPS performed at our fabulous Winter Concert. All this happened whilst several of our bravest and highest achieving solo musicians prepared diligently for their external Trinity and ABRSM Music Exams. We are so very proud of our children who have achieved such commendable results in these challenging performance exams. See our full results below.
A huge well done and a Happy Christmas to all!
Drama Festival Results
Over the week we entered 39 Speech and Drama students from Years 3 to 8 into a variety of solo acting, duologue acting, prepared improvisation and poetry categories. Several of our older students performed in more than one category. All our students brought home a certificate with all of them having marks of Merit and above including Commended (80-82/100), Honours (85-89/100), Outstanding (90-94/100) and Exceptional (95-100/100)! We had many students achieve First, second and third placings and overall category winners.
It was lovely to see so many students have the opportunity to get onto a stage and perform their pieces to a real live audience. Every student left the stage smiling and glad they had performed. It was great for them to get some credit for their hard work both in our lessons and outside of school, whether that is an applause, a medal or a trophy.
