At the weekend, I completed a Tetrathlon and a Biathlon. A tetrathlon consists of the following four events: shooting, running, swimming and horse riding. A biathlon consists of two of those events: running and swimming.

In the Tetrathlon I swam and shot on the Saturday. Then I ran and rode on the Sunday. After the shoot and the swim, I was in 1st place, so I just had to withhold my position. On Sunday I had to run at a different time to most people because I was doing the Biathlon later that day. So, I ran with three other people. In the ride I ended up riding with the older people. I had a PB on the run, so I was still in 1st overall, I just had to hold that through the ride! For the ride, the best you can get is a 1400 and I got a 1400 which is a clear round without any time faults. So, I won the whole event!

The next thing I had to do was the Biathlon. It consists of running and swimming. I ran in the first heat (of year 6 girls) and warming up was quite a rush! However, it was a good run, and not only did I achieve a PB, for me, I also won my heat! In the swim me, and one of my friends, had been doing the Tetrathlon so we had to swim in our own heat, which meant that it was just the two of us in the pool. My swim went well, and I achieved another PB.

When the results were published, I realised that I had come 4th in the swim, and I was the quickest runner. Which meant that overall I won the whole event! My team did well too; we came 1st overall. Overall, it was a fantastic weekend.

Tetrathlon and Biathlon are amazing events, and I would encourage everyone to give it a go!

Alongside winning the regional biathlon today, she also won the regional pony club tetrathlon too. A great weekend for her!
