The year 11, 12 and 13 prospective medics were treated to a talk and Q&A with Dr Rosie Benneyworth, the Chief Inspector for Primary Healthcare and Integrated Care with the Care Quality Commission.

Rosie was able to inspire our pupils with details of her career spanning from being a GP to working directly with the government to improve healthcare in England. The talk covered how the ‘arm’s length’ sectors of the Department of Health and Social Care are structured and pupils were able to ask about the positives and negatives of the new structure of Integrated Care Systems.

We were incredibly lucky to have such a high-profile and interesting visitor who our pupils were able to learn so much from as they aspire to a career in medicine.
