This month TSIMS students travelled to London for three fun filled days of tours, museums and theatre shows.

Day one got off to a great start with a trip to the London Dungeons, where the students learnt about London’s gruesome history whilst simultaneously trying not to jump out of their skin from the frightening performances. Following this was a ride on the London eye. The students admired the iconic London skyline and looked down onto the Houses of Parliament and the Elizabeth tower. After a quick break at the hostel, the students boarded a haunted bus to embark on a ghost bus tour. Whilst educational, the students spent most of the time laughing at the tour guides hilarious antics.

After a busy first day, the students were able to slow down on day two to enjoy the exhibits in the Natural History Museum and the Science Museum. Everyone marvelled at the interesting sights including the giant blue whale skeleton at the entrance of the Natural History Museum, and the old planes suspended from the ceiling in the Science Museum. In the evening, students split to go and see two of London’s best shows, Wicked and Back to the Future. Both shows were well received, with students giving a standing ovation at the end of both performances.

On the final day of the trip, a walking tour kicked off the day, taking the students past some of London’s most famous landmarks including Buckingham Palace and Westminster Abbey. From there we travelled to the Tower of London, one of the students’ favourite parts of the trip. They took in all the history that surrounded them and admired the armour and weaponry of past kings in the White Tower. The final stop on the trip was to Westfield, one of London’s biggest shopping centres, before jumping back on the coach and heading home.

Both staff and students had an amazing time, and the tiredness that followed was well worth it!
